Japanese enterprises needed ClimateTech solutions that matched specific sustainability priorities and practical use cases. Effective engagement required an understanding of corporate decision-making, technology relevance, and the steps needed to explore collaboration.
Through local partner CommunityLink, with support from Hyogo Prefecture and the City of Kobe, 2080 combined corporate discovery interviews with targeted international startup scouting. The programme connected enterprise priorities with founder capabilities and prepared both the matching process and startups for collaboration discussions.
The supplied record reports engagements with Toshiba, Kobe Steel, and five other corporations, leading to four NDAs, one memorandum of understanding, and one proof-of-concept project.
An NDA, an MOU, and a PoC are different stages of collaboration. The source does not state that the PoC was paid or converted into a commercial contract.
