2080 Ventures helped IBK to engage top early-stage startups in Korea, supporting the operations of corporate acceleration, program and to identify investment opportunities.
Industrial Bank of Korea is a state-owned bank headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
The Challenge
Faced with identifying good startups to work with and invest in. IBK was looking for a partner who could run an acceleration program for early-stage and mid-stage tech startups with a global network and knowledge of the local mentality and culture.
What We Provided
- Strategic Alignment Workshops: We're hosting a series of workshops and lectures for startups focusing on building growth systems, global expansion, and increasing the value for company stakeholders.
- Global network: Matched startups with global mentors from global investment companies and seasoned entrepreneurs.
- Vetting of startups through our accelerator: we provided IBK with priority access to see how 2080 selected and identified 12 startups that can fit as the potential for one of their business units and receive additional investment.
- Helped mid-stage startups with in-depth mentoring sessions to get more users and hit weekly KPIs, focusing on market expansion.
Outcomes
2080 supported IBK to successfully identify 12 startups from the batch and made a contract to work with them further by providing them with investment, free space, meeting with IBKs business units, and considering an additional investment for the startups if they were able to achieve the right KPIs.
